Indian MYOPAIN Society
On February 27, 2017 the newly created Indian MYOPAIN Society became an offical Chapter of the International Myopain Society (IMS). According to founder, Dr. Deepak Sharan, the Indian chapter of the IMS was created for the benefit of healthcare professionals and patients in India, who manage soft tissue pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndromes, chronic fatigue syndrome, masticatory myofascial pain syndrome, hypermobility syndrome, and other localized soft tissue pain disorders. Many of these conditions fall under the care of clinicians who specialize in arthritis and other autoimmune conditions.
The objectives of the Indian Chapter of the IMS are to perpetuate high quality international meetings, educational forums and facilitate research related to soft tissue pain. The Indian Myopain Society has been created to provide a structure to facilitate formal and informal interaction between health professionals from a variety of clinical and basic science disciplines in India.
The Indian Chapter is responsible for maintaining the frequency and quality of activity in the area they serve, and for identifying and promoting those activities of specific interest to their members. The Indian chapter also has responsibilities toward meeting the high standards of scientific endeavors and education of the International Myopain Society, which was founded in 1997. The organization will communicate with the IMS; submit annual financial and activity reports; report changes in officers and contact information; update chapter member lists; and adhere to IMS policies concerning chapter membership, meeting sponsorship, and management of funds.
It is with great enthusiasm that the Indian MYOPAIN Society announced that October 4-8, 2017, under the umbrealla of the IMS will partner with RECOUP to host the 10th MYOPAIN Congress in Banaglore, India. You are encouraged to register for this presitgious event and enjoy Indian hospitality at its finest!
