Orlando Mayoral del Moral is a physical therapist at Provincial Hospital in Toledo, Spain and Associate Professor at the Physical Therapy School of  Castilla-La Mancha University, where he teaches biomechanics, Cyriax’s orthopedic medicine, and myofascial pain syndrome.

His main training in the field of myofascial pain syndrome was with Dr. Robert Gerwin. He has participated in several research projects for Provincial Hospital, Castilla-La Mancha University, and the International MYOPAIN Society, of which he became a member in 1998.

He has lectured and taught throughout Spain and in several other countries on myofascial pain syndrome, and other musculoskeletal pain syndromes, and has published several articles and book chapters on these topics. He has translated into Spanish the two volumes of Travell & Simons’ Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual.

He is a member of the editorial boards of the Spanish journal Fisioterapia and of the Journal of Musculoskeletal Pain.

He has participated in the organizing and/or in the scientific committees of many national and international congresses in the field of manual physical therapy.
